What you'll do...

  • You will be the ground hand for technicians, provide parts as needed, move bucket truck as directed by technician.
  • You will ensure that door-tagging and resident notification of our construction activities has been completed prior to starting each workday.
  • You will ensure daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment is performed and documented. If appropriately licensed, drive company vehicles as needed to jobsite.
  • You will be involved in all phases of underground construction including, but not limited to:
      • loading
      • driving
      • delivery
      • digging
      • removal/placement of various types, sizes, and weight of construction material and equipment
  • You be using and working around various types of equipment including heavy equipment and machinery
  • You will install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
  • You will work in congested and remote areas
  • You will maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman to ensure save coordination of movement
  • You will perform general construction work under direction of the Foreman/Supervisor


Qualifications

Who we are looking for…

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You have 0-1 or more years of unskilled labor experience, in telecommunications is a plus
  • You have a valid standard driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • You have the knowledge to read prints and interpret utility maps
  • You may have knowledge of Installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications). 
  • You have the basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
  • You have the ability to work over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
  • You can stand, crouch, sit, bend, balance, climb, crawl, lift, hold, or stoop while on shift
  • You have experience working in adverse weather such as extreme heat, cold temperatures, wind, rain, snow, sleet, and dust
  • You have experience eriving on wet or icy roads and in the fog
  • You are able to lift, climb, and carry weight of up to 100lbs
